Tulsa Livestock Auction report
The Tulsa Livestock Auction, Tulsa, Oklahoma, reported receipts of 1,044 head selling on Feb. 26, compared to 1,978 head a week ago and 1,908 head last year, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Compared to a week ago, steers were selling $3 to $5 higher in a light test. Heifers were selling mostly steady to $2 higher, also in a light test. Demand was good. Quality was mostly plain, few attractive. Receipts include 14% over 600 pounds and 52% heifers. Slaughter cows were selling $6 higher in a light test. Slaughter bulls were selling $2 to $4 higher, also in a light test. A total of 100 cows and bulls sold with 59% going to packers.
