Oklahoma Cattlemen’s Foundation is hosting AgVocacy Seminar on Feb. 8
The Oklahoma Cattlemen’s Foundation is hosting an AgVocacy Seminar on Feb. 8 at the Cimarron Fields Event Barn, 5120 S. Cimarron Road, Yukon, Oklahoma. The seminar will begin at 9 a.m. and conclude by 4 p.m.
“AgVocacy is a term used to describe the act of being an advocate for agriculture,” said Tiffani Pruitt, Oklahoma Cattlemen’s Foundation coordinator. “Agriculturalists continue to improve efficiency on farms and ranches and grow more crops and livestock with less resources. As efficiency goes up, the number of people engaged in production agriculture decreases and the agriculture education gap gets deeper and wider.”
According to Pruitt, the trio of speakers for the day are engaged agriculturalists genuinely concerned about agriculture literacy, or the public’s knowledge of agriculture. “You’ll be entertained, enlightened and leave with a bank of ideas to help bridge the ever-growing ag literacy gap,” said Pruitt.
Ann Burkholder from Cozad, Nebraska is the author of the Feedyard Foodie Blog, a Nebraska Feedyard Operator, wife and mother of three. Ann is a native of urban Palm Beach County, Florida, and an Ivy League-educated athlete fueled by beef for many years before she understood where her beef came from.
Brandi Frobose and her husband ranch near Greeley, Kansas. Brandi is a mother, blogger, runner and is currently the communications coordinator for the Red Angus Association of America.
Ryan Goodman grew up on a progressive cow/calf and stocker cattle operation in Arkansas. Ryan currently resides near Denver, Colorado where he is the director of Grassroots Advocacy and Spokesperson Development for the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association. In his position, he builds working relationships with producers and provides them with tools and education for better advocacy and communication.
