Tulia Livestock Auction report

The Tulia Livestock Auction, Inc., Tulia, Texas, reported receipts of 2,689 head selling on May 3, compared to 2,602 head a week ago and 4,176 head last year, according to the USDA Market News Service, Amarillo, Texas.

Compared to a week ago, feeder steers and heifers were selling $1 to $5 higher. Trade was fairly active on very good demand. Slaughter cows and bulls made up 3%, less than 1% replacements and 97% feeders. The feeder supply consisted of 46% steers and bulls, and 54% heifers. Approximately 86% of the run weighed over 600 pounds.
