Springfield Livestock feeder cattle auction

The Springfield Livestock Marketing Center, Springfield, Missouri, reported receipts of 1,100 head selling on Aug. 29, compared to 1,782 head a week ago and 1,654 head a year ago, according to the USDA-Missouri Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Jefferson, Missouri.

Compared to the previous week, feeder cattle were trading $3 to $8 lower with the sharpest decline on steer calves. The supply was light to moderate and the demand was moderate. Feeder cattle supply included 45% steers, 3% dairy steers, 33% heifers and 19% bulls. The feeder cattle supply weighing over 600 pounds was 37%.
