The Lexington Livestock Market, Lexington, Nebraska, reported receipts of 2,082 head selling on Sept. 14, compared to 2,240 head on Aug. 31 and 1,626 head last year, according to the Nebraska Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News Service, Kearney, Nebraska.
Compared to the Aug. 31 sale, 800- to 900-pound steers were selling $5 higher and heifers over 750 pounds were selling steady. Demand was good from the buyers in the crowd with internet activity noticed. The calf and feeder supply included 58% steers and 42% heifers with 90% of the run weighing over 600 pounds.
