Groundbreaking set for Greenhouse Learning Center

Oklahoma State University’s Division of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources and the OSU Foundation are pleased to announce the groundbreaking of the Greenhouse Learning Center on the OSU campus in Stillwater on June 6 at 10:30 a.m.

The Greenhouse Learning Center will be located directly behind the University Health Services building, located at Lincoln Street and Farm Road.

A groundbreaking ceremony will take place for the new Greenhouse Learning Center, which will provide a state-of-the-art learning facility to better prepare career-ready professionals to enter the horticulture industry. The new $6 million learning facility will feature six greenhouses, a classroom, a head house, office space, plant-prep area and storage for soil, equipment and chemicals. A large foyer will feature space that can be used for events and student club meetings. Construction is expected to be completed in fall 2019. Brief remarks will be made from the following speakers:

  • Burns Hargis, OSU president;
  • Tom Coon, vice president, OSU DASNR;
  • Ryan Blake, May 2018 graduate, Department of Horticulture and Landscape Architecture;
  • Austin Kenyon, former president, Greenleaf Nursery (1977-1988), 1961 OSU horticulture graduate; and
  • Randy Davis, president and CEO, Greenleaf Nursery, 1976 OSU horticulture graduate.
