Pratt 3 p.m. cattle sales report

The Pratt Livestock Auction, Pratt, Kansas, Oct. 4, reported receipts of 1,871 head selling, as of 3 p.m., according to the USDA-Kansas Department of Agriculture Market News, Dodge City, Kansas.

Compared to a week ago, feeder steers 800 to 850 pounds were selling steady to firm, while 950 to 1000 pounds saw a sharp increase. A higher undertone was noted on all other comparable weights. There were very few offerings of feeder heifers. The feeder supply was 66% steers, 34% heifers, with 97% over 600 pounds.
