Cash bids mostly higher

Compared to last week, cash bids for were mostly higher for wheat, corn, sorghum and soybeans according to USDA reported prices, April 5.

For the week ending March 31, a decrease of 86,062 metric tons of corn inspected and weighed for export was reported while an increase of 105,768 metric tons of soybeans were inspected and weighed. Wheat inspected and weighed for export showed a decrease of 45,746 metric tons. Sorghum inspected and weighed for export reported a decrease of 59,820 metric tons.

Ethanol production for the week ending March 25, had a slight decrease at 1,036,000 barrels a day.

Wheat was up 45 cents to unchanged. Corn up 9 1/4 to 9 cents. Sorghum was up 9 1/4 to 9 cents. Soybeans were up 28 3/4 to 33 1/4 cents.

In the futures close, Kansas City May wheat was $10.82 3/4.

Terminal wheat bids, paid for truck delivery, included Kansas City, $10.89 1/4, up 45 cents; Minneapolis, $13.27 3/4, change unavailable; Portland, $10.50 to $11, unchanged; St. Louis, $10.37 1/2,up 35 cents.

Terminal corn bids, U.S. No. 2 yellow, price paid for truck deliver, included: Kansas City, $7.63 1/4 to $7.78 1/4, up 9 cents; Minneapolis, $7.11 3/4 to $7.16 3/4, up 9 1/4 cents; southern Iowa, $7.33 3/4 to $7.45 3/4, up 11 1/4 to 10 1/4 cents; Omaha, $7.13 1/4 to $7.30 1/4, up 13 to 14 cents.

Terminal soybean bids, U.S. No. 1, price paid for truck delivery, included: Kansas City, $16.14 to $16.29, up 25 cents; Minneapolis, $15.81 to $15.86, up 23 3/4 to 28 3/4 cents; southern Iowa, $16.06 to $16.21, up 28 3/4 cents; central Illinois processors, $16.21 to $16.51, up 28 3/4 to 33 3/4 cents.
