For the month of February, topsoil moisture supplies rated 4 percent very short, 22 short, 72 adequate, and 2 surplus, according to the USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service, Northern Plains Regional Field Office, Nebraska. Subsoil moisture supplies rated 3 percent very short, 28 short, 68 adequate, and 1 surplus.

Winter wheat condition rated 0 percent very poor, 5 poor, 52 fair, 38 good, and 5 excellent.
