Pratt Livestock auction report
The Pratt Livestock, Pratt, Kansas, reported receipts of 5,454 head selling on March 15, compared to 5,230 head a week ago and 6,006 head last year, according to the USDA-Kansas Department of Agriculture Market News, Dodge City, Kansas.
Compared to a week ago, feeder steers 600 to 1000 pounds were selling steady to $3 lower. Feeder heifers 650 to 800 pounds were selling $1 to $4 lower, 800 to 950 pounds were selling steady to $1 lower. Steer and heifer calves were selling steady to weak on a light test of medium and large frame 1. Trade and demand was moderate. Slaughter cows were selling $6 to $8 lower and slaughter bulls were selling $2 to $3 lower. The feeder supply included 59% steers and 41% heifers. The feeder cattle supply over 600 pounds was 68% (3,696).
