Apache livestock auction report

The Apache Livestock Auction, Apache, Oklahoma, reported receipts of 960 head selling on April 5, compared to 519 head a week ago and 2,391 head last year, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

There were limited receipts from the sale a week ago, so no market comparison is available. However, a higher undertone was noted on all classes. The supply included 50% over 600 pounds and 52% heifers. Slaughter cows were selling $2 to $4 higher. Slaughter bulls were selling $1 higher. Packer demand was moderate. A total of 176 cows and bulls sold with 53% going to packers.
