The Amarillo Livestock Auction Summary, Amarillo, Texas, reported receipts of 340 head selling on May 21, compared to 565 head a week ago and 646 head last year, according to the USDA-Texas Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Amarillo, Texas.

Compared to a week ago, there were not enough sales of any class of cattle for a market trend. Trade was slow on light to moderate demand. A downward market in the previous week had producers hesitant to sell. Slaughter cows and bulls made up 11%, 1% replacements and 88% feeders. The feeder supply consisted of 57% steers and bulls, 43% heifers. Approximately 56% of the run weighed over 600 pounds.

Steers: Medium and large frame 1, few 536 lbs., 151.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 140.00 to 144.00; few 736 lbs., 135.00; few 785 lbs., fleshy 125.00. Holstein steers, large fame 3, few 586 lbs., 60.00.

Feeder bulls: Medium and large frame 1, individual 440 lbs., 154.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 146.50 to 150.00. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, few 541 lbs., 120.50; few 667 lbs., 116.00.

Heifers: Medium and large frame 1, few 398 lbs., 141.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 128.00 to 131.00; lot 824 lbs., 111.25. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, few 455 lbs., 128.00; few 648 lbs., 120.00. Medium and large frame 2, few 255 lbs., 173.00.

Slaughter cows: Boning, 80 to 85% lean, 1000 to 1350 lbs., 52.50 to 55.00; high dressing, 58.50. Lean, 85 to 90% lean, 800 to 1200 lbs., 62.00.
