Ozarks Regional cattle sales report
The Ozarks Regional Stockyards, West Plains, Missouri, reported receipts of 2,227 head selling on Dec. 13, compared to 3,127 head a week ago and 3,257 head last year, according to the USDA-Missouri Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Jefferson City, Missouri.
Compared to a week ago, steer and heifer calves under 400 pounds were selling steady to $2 higher, while steer and heifer calves weighing 400 to 600 pounds were selling steady to $5 lower. Steers and heifers over 600 pounds were selling $3 to $6 lower. Demand was moderate to good on moderate supply. The feeder cattle supply included 49% steers, 1% dairy steers, 48% heifers and 1% bulls. The feeder cattle supply over 600 pounds was 36%.
