Colorado feeder cattle auction summary
The Colorado Auction Feeder Cattle Summary, Greeley, Colorado, reported receipts of 3,543 head selling on Nov. 23, compared to 18,018 head a week ago, according to the USDA-Colorado Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Greeley, Colorado.
Compared to a week ago, trade activity and demand were moderate to good. Feeder steers under 450 pounds were trading sharply lower, 450 to 700 pounds were selling $2 lower to $2 higher, and 700 to 850 pounds were selling sharply lower with no test on steers over 850 pounds. Feeder heifers under 600 pounds were trading mostly $6 to $10 higher on a light test, 600 to 700 pounds were selling steady to $1 lower, and over 700 pounds were too lightly tested to trend. The feeder supply consisted of approximately 60% steers, 39% heifers and 1% bulls. Feeder cattle over 600 pounds made up approximately 30% of the supply.
