Grain market close
The USDA Market News Service, Greeley, Colorado, in the closing grain report for Aug. 4, reported in futures trading that Chicago September soft red winter wheat was $5.08 1/4, down 12 3/4 cents; September corn, $3.08 1/4, down 9 1/4 cents; and August soybeans, $8.83 3/4, down 13 3/4 cents.
The export bid for direct Gulf delivery of No. 1 hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, rail, unavailable; No. 2 soft red winter wheat, barge, $5.68 1/4 to $5.73 1/4, down 12 3/4 cents; No. 2 yellow corn, barge, $3.58 1/4 to $3.61 1/4, down 12 1/4 to 13 1/4 cents; No. 2 yellow sorghum, rail, $7.77 1/4 to $8.39. 3/4, down 14 3/4 cents; No. 2 yellow sorghum, barge, unavailable; and No. 1 yellow soybeans, barge, $9.55 3/4 to $9.56 3/4, down 12 3/4 to 13 3/4 cents.
Colby, Kansas, unit train wheat bid was $4.04 on July 31.
In Denver and the surrounding area Aug. 4, hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, was $4.02 to $4.32.
No. 1 hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, north central Colorado, was $3.57 to $3.62.
In northeast Colorado, wheat was $2.98 to $3.27.
In east central Colorado, wheat was $2.80 to $3.18.
In southeast Colorado, wheat was $3.38
In southwest Nebraska and southeast Wyoming, wheat bids were $3.62 1/4 to $3.93 1/4.
No. 2 yellow corn in north central Colorado was $3.57 to $3.62 per bushel.
In northeast Colorado, the country elevator corn bids were $2.98 to $3.27.
In east central Colorado, corn was $2.80 to $3.18.
In southeast Colorado, corn was $3.38.
In southwest Nebraska and southeast Wyoming, corn bids were $2.93 1/4 per bushel.
No. 2 yellow sorghum in southeast Colorado was $5.68 to $6.04 per cwt.
No. 1 yellow soybeans in southwest Nebraska were $7.57 to $7.92 per bushel.
White millet in Colorado, southwest Nebraska and southeast Wyoming was $12 to $15 per cwt., mostly $14.
Sunflowers were $20 to $20.50 cwt.
In Denver and surrounding areas, corn was $3.48 to $4.32 per bushel. Barley was unavailable.
For July 31, in northeast Colorado, Wyoming and western Nebraska, pinto bean prices were unavailable; in North Dakota and Minnesota, pinto beans were steady $38 to $40. In North Dakota and Minnesota, black beans were steady $25 to $27. Great Northern prices were unavailable in northeast Colorado, Wyoming and western Nebraska. In North Dakota and Minnesota, navy beans were steady $30 to $35. In northeast Colorado, Wyoming and western Nebraska, light red kidney prices were unavailable; in North Dakota and Minnesota, light red kidney prices were unavailable.
