High Plains cattle sales report

The High Plains area weekly weighted average direct cattle sales results for the week ending Sept. 25 reported receipts of 69,756 head of cattle selling compared to 60,438 head a week ago and 97,688 head trading a year ago, according to USDA Livestock Poultry and Grain Market News Division, St. Joseph, Missouri. This report is based on sales from Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Iowa and Minnesota feedlots. 

Steers:

Live FOB basis, over 80% Choice, 20,923 head, 1,300 to 1,650 lbs., 182.00 to 187.00 (185.25); 65 to 80% Choice, 5,960 head, 1,200 to 1,550 lbs., 183.00 to 185.00 (183.32); 35 to 65% Choice, 1,386 head, 1,200 to 1,420 lbs., 182.00 to 183.00 (182.96). Live delivered, over 80% Choice, 1,541 head, 1,425 to 1,525 lbs., 185.00 to 188.00 (187.58). Dressed delivered, over 80% Choice, 9,240 head, 822 to 1,059 lbs., 288.00 to 295.00 (292.24); 65 to 80% Choice, 2,619 head, 855 to 1,040 lbs., 285.00 to 293.00 (291.09). Dressed FOB, over 80% Choice, 1,780 head, 914 to 1,016 lbs., 292.00 to 293.00 (292.53).
