High Plains cattle sales report

The High Plains area weekly weighted average direct cattle sales results for the week ending Sept. 25 reported receipts of 60,438 head of cattle selling compared to 47,171 head a week ago and 59,366 head trading a year ago, according to USDA Livestock Poultry and Grain Market News Division, St. Joseph, Missouri. This report is based on sales from Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Iowa and Minnesota feedlots. 

Steers:

Live FOB basis, over 80% Choice, 22,021 head, 1,300 to 1,650 lbs., 182.00 to 186.00 (184.41); 65 to 80% Choice, 5,790 head, 1,215 to 1,525 lbs., 180.00 to 185.00 (182.81); 35 to 65% Choice, 741 head, 1,250 to 1,400 lbs., 182.00 to 183.00 (182.71). Live delivered, over 80% Choice, 1,258 head, 1,375 to 1,550 lbs., 185.00 to 188.00 (186.62). Dressed delivered, over 80% Choice, 3,277 head, 806 to 1,021 lbs., 290.00 to 293.00 (292.00); 65 to 80% Choice, 2,326 head, 883 to 984 lbs., 286.00 to 292.00 (291.77); 35 to 65% Choice, 57 head, 975 lbs., 286.00.
