The High Plains area weekly weighted average direct cattle sales results for the week ending Aug. 3, reported receipts of 26,255 head compared to 36,467 head a week ago and 59,257 head a year ago, according to the USDA Livestock Poultry and Grain Market News Division, St. Joseph, Missouri.
The report was based on sales from Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Iowa, and Minnesota feedlots.
Steers: Live FOB basis, over 80% Choice, 6,656 head, 1,425 to 1,700 lbs., 232.00 to 235.00 (233.17); 65 to 80% Choice, 1,469 head, 1,350 to 1,600 lbs., 229.00 to 233.00 (232.61); 35 to 65% Choice, 660 head, 1,425 to 1,600 lbs., 233.00.
