High Plains cattle sales report

The High Plains area weekly weighted average direct cattle sales results for the week ending June 28, reported receipts of 46,768 head compared to 52,441 head a week ago and 43,228 head a year ago, according to the USDA Livestock Poultry and Grain Market News Division, St. Joseph, Missouri.

The report was based on sales from Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Iowa, and Minnesota feedlots.

Steers: Live FOB basis, over 80% Choice, 13,338 head, 1,325 to 1,735 lbs., 255.00 to 262.00 (259.65); 65 to 80% Choice, 1,689 head, 1,400 to 1,600 lbs., 258.00; 35 to 65% Choice, 1,443 head, 1,450 to 1,650 lbs., 258.00. Live delivered basis, over 80% Choice, 1,366 head, 1,475 to 1,600 lbs., 260.00 to 262.00 (261,85). Dressed delivered basis, over 80% Choice, 8,850 head, 806 to 1,088 lbs., 405.00 to 410.00 (407.79).;65 to 80% Choice, 113 head, 951 to 1,024 lbs., 405.00.
