The High Plains area weekly weighted average direct cattle sales results for the week ending Aug. 9, reported receipts of 83,721 head compared to 26,255 head a week ago and 47,342 head a year ago, according to the USDA Livestock Poultry and Grain Market News Division, St. Joseph, Missouri.
The report was based on sales from Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Iowa, and Minnesota feedlots.
Steers: Live FOB basis, over 80% Choice, 30,248 head, 1,400 to 1,675 lbs., 235.00 to 238.50 (235.23); 65 to 80% Choice, 2,926 head, 1,375 to 1,625 lbs., 235.00 to 236.00 (235.03); 35 to 65% Choice, 397 head, 1,400 to 1,475 lbs., 235.00. Live delivered basis, over 80% Choice, 5,932 head, 1,400 to 1,675 lbs., 235.00 to 240.50 (239.72). Dressed delivered basis, over 80% Choice, 20,274 head, 882 to 1,080 lbs., 370.00 to 380.00 (371.15); 65 to 80%, 811 head, 873 to 945 lbs., 370.00.
