High Plains cattle sales report

The High Plains area weekly weighted average direct cattle sales results for the week ending June 21, reported receipts of 52,441 head compared to 40,576 head a week ago and 47,827 head a year ago, according to the USDA Livestock Poultry and Grain Market News Division, St. Joseph, Missouri.

The report was based on sales from Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Iowa, and Minnesota feedlots.

Steers: Live FOB basis, over 80% Choice, 19,149 head, 1,375 to 1,675 lbs., 256.00 to 260.50 (259.70); 65 to 80% Choice, 2,810 head, 1,450 to 1,650 lbs., 256.00 to 260.00 (259.21); 35 to 65% Choice, 1,675 head, 1,220 to 1,650 lbs., 256.00 to 260.00 (259.55). Live delivered basis, over 80% Choice, 793 head, 1,400 to 1,600 lbs., 256.00 to 262.00 (259.32). Dressed delivered basis, over 80% Choice, 3,994 head, 835 to 1,103 lbs., 402.00 to 410.00 (407.00). Dressed FOB, over 80% Choice, 451 head, 882 to 1,032 lbs., 404.00 to 408.00 (407.65).
