The High Plains area weekly weighted average direct cattle sales results for the week ending May 19, reported receipts of 78,754 head compared to 68,269 head a week ago and 60,422 head a year ago, according to the USDA Livestock Poultry and Grain Market News Division, St. Joseph, Missouri.
The report is based on sales from Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Iowa, and Minnesota feedlots.
Steers: Live FOB basis, over 80% Choice, 21,399 head, 1,195 to 1,675 lbs., 186.00 to 191.00 (189.43); 65 to 80% Choice, 7,987 head, 1,200 to 1,535 lbs., 184.00 to 190.00 (186.36); 35 to 65% Choice, 619 head, 1,250 to 1,450 lbs., 186.00.
