Ecorobotix invests $50 million in precision spraying technology
Ecorobotix announced March 24 that its flagship product, the ARA ultra-high precision sprayer, is now being assembled for the United States market in Lyons, Kansas, marking a significant step in the company’s expansion across North America.
The sprayers will be assembled in partnership with KMW, a Kansas-based manufacturer with extensive experience supporting original equipment manufacturers through precision manufacturing and equipment assembly. The collaboration allows Ecorobotix to strengthen its U.S. supply chain while enabling Ecorobotix to adapt its technology more efficiently for U.S. production regions and specialty crop growers. The expansion will create more than 80 new jobs in the U.S., adding to the company’s existing US team of 40 and strengthening the Ecorobotix global workforce of more than 300 employees.
“Over the next three years, Ecorobotix will invest $50 million to expand U.S. operations and deliver our Swiss-engineered ultra-high precision agriculture technology to American farmers,” said Dominique Mégret, CEO of Ecorobotix. “Assembling the ARA in Kansas strengthens our commitment to the U.S. market and allows us to work closely with American partners to ensure our technology meets the needs of growers across the country.”
The ARA ultra-high precision sprayer uses agronomic intelligence and advanced computer vision to identify crops and weeds in real time and apply crop protection products only where needed. The system scans fields and activates targeted spraying within a quarter of a second, helping farmers reduce input costs while maintaining crop performance.
In addition to expanding its U.S. manufacturing presence, Ecorobotix is also building partnerships with universities across the United States to better understand regional agronomic conditions and support the development of new crop algorithms tailored to American farming systems. These collaborations will help the company continue refining its Plant-by-Plant AI technology for the unique challenges and opportunities facing U.S. producers.
The Lyons assembly operation reflects the growing demand for precision agriculture technologies that help farmers manage rising input costs while improving operational efficiency.
