High Plains cattle sales report

The High Plains area weekly weighted average direct cattle sales results for the week ending March 29, reported receipts of 44,634 head compared to 41,239 head a week ago and 52,791 head a year ago, according to the USDA Livestock Poultry and Grain Market News Division, St. Joseph, Missouri.

The report was based on sales from Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Iowa, and Minnesota feedlots.

Steers: Live FOB basis, over 80% Choice, 12,229 head, 1,340 to 1,725 lbs., 233.00 to 238.00 (235.35); 65 to 80% Choice, 2,471 head, 1,250 to 1,735 lbs., 234.00 to 238.000 (237.33); 35 to 65% Choice, 55 head, 1,400 lbs., 238.00. Live delivered basis, over 80% Choice, 2,998 head, 1,525 to 1,700 lbs., 239.00 to 241.00 (239.53). Dressed delivered basis, over 80% Choice, 6,352 head, 853 to 1,116 lbs., 370.00 to 372.00 (371.68); 65 to 80% Choice, 495 head, 945 to 1,065 lbs., 372.00.
