Watch the July 3 Mount Rushmore fireworks
The National Park Service paused the annual tradition of fireworks over Mount Rushmore National Memorial in 2010 due to wildfire concerns. The last fireworks display at the memorial was six years ago. On Friday, July 3, 2026, fireworks return to Mount Rushmore in celebration of America’s 250th birthday!
Tickets for the closed event were issued through a lottery system in April, but you can watch the show live via the Travel South Dakota livestream. The stream begins July 3, 2026 at 4:00pm Mountain Time, 5:00pm Central Standard Time.
