High Plains cattle sales report
The High Plains area weekly weighted average direct cattle sales results for the week ending May 25, reported receipts of 46,393 head compared to 69,772 head a week ago and 56,471 head a year ago, according to the USDA Livestock Poultry and Grain Market News Division, St. Joseph, Missouri.
The report is based on sales from Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Iowa, and Minnesota feedlots.
Steers: Live FOB basis, over 80% Choice, 11,473 head, 1,250 to 1,650 lbs., 219.00 to 231.00 (229.73); 65 to 80% Choice, 2,304 head, 1,300 to 1,550 lbs., 219.00 to 220.00 (219.92); 35 to 65% Choice, 2,449 head, 1,270 to 1,500 lbs., 220.00 to 221.00 (220.66). Live delivered, over 80% Choice, 1,126 head, 1,400 to 1,600 lbs., 225.00 to 232.00 (231.39). Dress delivered, over 80% Choice, 6,341 head, 822 to 1,105 lbs., 354.00 to 370.00 (361.85); 65 to 80% Choice, 310 head, 885 to 949 lbs., 360.00; 82 head, 943 lbs., 360.00.
