Kansas—This past week, compared to the last report, hay movement remained slow but steady. Producers have been actively engaged in field management activities, including fertilizing bromegrass stands and applying insecticide treatments to alfalfa fields in response to weevils and other insect pests that have appeared early due to the warm weather, according to the Kansas Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News Service, Mar. 14.
