University of Missouri Extension will offer two opportunities this fall and winter for beef producers to earn or renew Beef Quality Assurance certification.

There is no cost to attend the evening programs. The first begins at 6 p.m. Nov. 5 at South Shelby Cafeteria, 4154 Highway 36, in Shelbina, with a registration deadline of Oct. 29. The second begins at 6 p.m. Jan. 14 at First Baptist Church, 21875 State Highway 6, in Ewing, with a registration deadline of Jan. 7.

Participants will receive information to help improve herd health, productivity and profitability while completing BQA certification requirements, said Brenda Schreck, MU Extension field specialist in livestock. A complimentary meal will be provided at both locations. To register, call the MU Extension Center in Lewis County at 573-767-5273 or email Schreck at [email protected].
