Cash bids mostly higher

Compared to last week, cash bids for corn, wheat, soybeans and sorghum were mostly higher, according to USDA reported prices, March 2.

For the week ending Feb. 25, an increase of 370,321 metric tons of corn inspected and weighed for export was reported while an increase of 76,034 metric tons of soybeans were inspected and weighed.  Wheat inspected and weighed for export showed a decrease of 51,777 metric tons. Sorghum inspected and weighed for export reported a decrease of 3,317 metric tons.

Ethanol production for the week ending Feb. 19, reported a significant decrease at 658,000 barrels a day.

Wheat was up 12 cents to unchanged.  Corn was up 6 3/4 cents.  Sorghum was up 6 3/4 cents.  Soybeans were up 20 1/4 to 21 1/4 cents.

In the futures close, Kansas City March wheat was $6.27.

Terminal wheat bids, paid for truck delivery, included Kansas City, $6.55 1/4, up 12 cents; Minneapolis, $7.15 1/4 to $7.20 1/4, up 12 cents; Portland, $7.20 to $7.60, unchanged; St. Louis, $6.96 3/4 to $7.10 1/4, up 16 cents.

Terminal corn bids, U.S. No. 2 yellow, price paid for truck deliver, included: Kansas City, $5.35 to $5.37, up 6 3/4 cents; Minneapolis, $4.36 3/4 to $5.30, up 4 3/4 to 8 cents; southern Iowa, $5.33 to $5.49, up 6 3/4 to 22 3/4 cents; Omaha, $5.07 to $5.18, up 6 3/4 cents.

Terminal soybean bids, U.S. No. 1, price paid for truck delivery, included: Kansas City, $14.07 1/2 to $14.17 1/2, up 21 1/4 cents; Minneapolis, $12.05 3/4 to $14.05 1/2, up 10 1/2 to 25 1/4 cents; southern Iowa, $13.92 1/2 to $14.12 1/2, up 20 1/4 to 31 1/4 cents; central Illinois processors, $14.26 1/2 to $14.40 1/2, up 20 1/4 to 21 1/4 cents.

Kansas City wheat prices March 2, spot, fob track, included: No. 1 hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, $7.28 1/4 to $7.38 1/4,up 12 cents; 12% protein, $7.66 1/4 to $7.70 1/4, up 14 cents; 13% protein, $7.48 1/4 to $7.58 1/4, up 12 cents; 14% protein, $7.48 1/4 to $7.58 1/4, up 12 cents. U.S. No. 2 soft red winter wheat was unavailable. U.S. No. 2 white corn was unavailable.
