Cash bids mixed

Compared to last week, cash bids for were mixed for wheat, corn, sorghum and soybeans according to USDA reported prices, Sept. 21.

For the week ending Sept. 16, an increase of 243,675 metric tons of corn inspected and weighed for export was reported while an increase of 81,740 metric tons of soybeans were inspected and weighed. Wheat inspected and weighed for export showed a decrease of 4,048 metric tons. Sorghum inspected and weighed for export reported an increase of 3,604 metric tons.

Ethanol production for the week ending Sept. 10, had a slight increase at 937,000 barrels a day.

Wheat was down 9 1/2 cents to unchanged. Corn was down 4 3/4 cents. Sorghum was down 4 3/4 cents. Soybeans were up 1 1/2 to 3 1/2 cents.

In the futures close, Kansas City December wheat was $6.90 1/2.

Terminal wheat bids, paid for truck delivery, included Kansas City, $7.10 1/2 to $7.22 1/2 3/4, down 9 1/2 cents; Minneapolis, $8 1/2, down 9 1/2 cents; Portland, $10.50 to $11.50, unchanged; St. Louis, unavailable.

Terminal corn bids, U.S. No. 2 yellow, price paid for truck deliver, included: Kansas City, $5.12 to $5.27, down 9 3/4 to 4 3/4 cents; Minneapolis, $4.87 to $5.17, up 15 1/4 to 24 3/4 cents; southern Iowa, $4.79 to $4.92, down 4 3/4 cents; Omaha, $4.87 to $5.15, down 4 3/4 to 12 3/4 cents.

Terminal soybean bids, U.S. No. 1, price paid for truck delivery, included: Kansas City, $12.59 to $12.74, up 11 1/4 cents; Minneapolis, $12.29 to $12.42, up 11 1/2 to 13 1/2 cents; southern Iowa, $12.18 to $12.31, up 11 1/2 cents; central Illinois processors, $12.64 to $12.74, up 11 1/2 to 3 1/2 cents.

Kansas City wheat prices Sept. 21, spot, fob track, included: No. 1 hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, $7.55 1/2 to $7.85 1/2, down 9 1/2 cents; 12% protein, $8.22 1/2 to $8.35 1/2, up 5 1/2 cents; 13% protein, $8.49 1/2 to $8.59 1/2, down 9 1/2 cents; 14% protein, $8.50 1/2 to $8.60 1/2, down 9 1/2 cents. U.S. No. 2 soft red winter wheat was unavailable. U.S. No. 2 white corn was unavailable.
