Cash bids mixed
Compared to last week, cash bids for corn and sorghum were higher, while soybeans and wheat were mixed according to USDA reported prices, Dec. 29.
For the week ending Dec. 24, an increase of 223,588 metric tons of corn inspected and weighed for export was reported while a decrease of 1,357,816 metric tons of soybeans were inspected and weighed. Wheat inspected and weighed for export showed a decrease of 88,369 metric tons. Sorghum inspected and weighed for export reported a decrease of 155 metric tons.
Ethanol production for the week ending Dec. 18, reported a slight increase at 976,000 barrels a day.
Wheat was up 8 to down 16 1/4 cents. Corn was up 9 1/2 cents. Sorghum was up 9 1/2 cents. Soybeans were up 40 1/4 cents.
In the futures close, Kansas City March wheat was $5.85
Terminal wheat bids, paid for truck delivery, included Kansas City, $6.10, up 8 cents; Minneapolis, $6.90 1/2 to $7.01 1/2, down 16 1/4 to 3 3/4 cents; Portland, $6.40 to $6.70, unchanged to down 3 cents; St. Louis, $6.43 1/2 to $6.48 1/2, up 4 1/4 cents.
Terminal corn bids, U.S. No. 2 yellow, price paid for truck deliver, included: Kansas City, $4.61 to $4.72, up 9 1/2 cents; Minneapolis, $4.11 to $4.54, up 10 to 9 cents; southern Iowa, $4.52 to $4.77, up 9 to 9 1/2 cents; Omaha, $4.30 to $4.39, up 7 1/2 cents.
Terminal soybean bids, U.S. No. 1, price paid for truck delivery, included: Kansas City, $12.75 1/2 to $12.80 1/2, up 4 1/2 cents; Minneapolis, $12.40 1/2 to $12.81 1/2, up 42 1/4 to 39 1/4 cents; southern Iowa, $12.74 1/2 to $13 1/2, up 39 1/4 to 40 1/4 cents; central Illinois processors, $12.98 1/2 to $13.15 1/2, up 40 1/4 cents.
Kansas City wheat prices Dec. 29, spot, fob track, included: No. 1 hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, $6.75 to $6.85, up 8 cents; 12% protein, $7.39 to $7.49, up 8 cents; 13% protein, $7.26 to $7.36, up 8 cents; 14% protein, $7.26 to $7.36, up 8 cents. U.S. No. 2 soft red winter wheat was unavailable. U.S. No. 2 white corn was unavailable.
