Cash bids lower
Compared to last week, cash bids for corn, soybeans, wheat and sorghum were down, according to USDA reported prices, Jan. 19.
For the week ending Jan. 14, a decrease of 436,933 metric tons of corn inspected and weighed for export was reported while an increase of 210,622 metric tons of soybeans were inspected and weighed. Wheat inspected and weighed for export showed a decrease of 4,189 metric tons. Sorghum inspected and weighed for export reported an increase of 26,034 metric tons.
Ethanol production for the week ending Jan. 8, reported a slight increase at 941,000 barrels a day.
Wheat was unchanged to up 1 cent to unchanged. Corn was down 5 1/2 cents. Sorghum was down 5 1/2 cents. Soybeans were down 31 cents.
In the futures close, Kansas City March wheat was $6.44.
Terminal wheat bids, paid for truck delivery, included Kansas City, $6.69, up 1 cent; Minneapolis, $7.49 to $7.54, up 1 cent; Portland, $6.58 to $7.10, unchanged; St. Louis, $7.12 1/4 to $7.22 1/4, down 3 1/4 cents.
Terminal corn bids, U.S. No. 2 yellow, price paid for truck deliver, included: Kansas City, $5.14 to $5.21, down 5 1/2 cents; Minneapolis, $4.71 to $5.07 1/4, down 5 1/2 to 9 cents; southern Iowa, $5.16 to $5.27 1/4, down 5 1/2 to 6 1/2 cents; Omaha, $4.80 to $4.90, down 5 1/2 cents.
Terminal soybean bids, U.S. No. 1, price paid for truck delivery, included: Kansas City, $13.65 3/4 to $13.68 3/4, down 31 to 36 cents; Minneapolis, $13.30 3/4 to $13.61 1/4, down 31 to 36 cents; southern Iowa, $13.63 1/4 to $13.90 1/4, down 31 to 31 1/2 cents; central Illinois processors, $13.95 3/4 to $14.05 3/4, down 31 cents.
Kansas City wheat prices Jan. 19, spot, fob track, included: No. 1 hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, $7.52 to $7.62, up 1 cent; 12% protein, $7.74 to $7.84, up 1 cent; 13% protein, $7.79 to $7.89, up 21 cents; 14% protein, $7.79 to $7.89, up 21 cents. U.S. No. 2 soft red winter wheat was unavailable. U.S. No. 2 white corn was unavailable.
