Iowa Sen. Chuck Grassley honored by farm managers and rural appraisers

The Iowa Chapter of the American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers has presented its 2021 Distinguished Service to Iowa Agriculture Award to Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley.

Grassley was presented the award virtually at the annual meeting of the Iowa Chapter of ASFMRA. The award recognizes persons who have made significant contributions to Iowa agriculture.

Both on and off the Senate Agriculture Committee, Grassley is an outspoken and effective voice for American agriculture. Grassley farms corn and soybeans with his son in Butler County, Iowa, and works to stay in close touch with the realities facing producers of farm commodities, including livestock.

In all his work, Grassley puts the needs of Iowans first.

Known for his reputation for hard work and constituent service, Grassley holds the longest consecutive voting streak in Senate history. Grassley hasn’t missed a vote since 1993, when he was in Iowa helping constituents respond to the devastating flooding.

A lifelong family farmer, Grassley brings a reality check to the policymaking tables when it comes to American agriculture. From the farm bill, to trade, taxes, energy, health care, bankruptcy and the federal regulatory regime, Grassley is a fierce advocate for farmers and families who live and work in Rural America.
