Cash bids mixed

Compared to last week, cash bids for corn, sorghum, soybeans and wheat were mixed according to USDA reported prices, Sept. 8.

For the week ending Sept. 3, a increase of 358,073 metric tons of corn inspected and weighed for export was reported while an increase of 486,806 metric tons of soybeans were inspected and weighed.  Wheat inspected and weighed for export showed a increase of 161,606 metric tons. Sorghum inspected and weighed for export reported an decrease of 66,996 metric tons.

Ethanol production for the week ending Aug. 28, reported a slight decrease at 922,000 barrels a day.

Wheat was 3 1/4 to 6 1/4 cents lower.  Corn was up 3 3/4 cents.  Sorghum was 3 3/4 to 13 3/4 cents higher.  Soybeans were 2 to 5 cents higher.

In the futures close, Kansas City September wheat was $4.71 1/2.

Terminal wheat bids, paid for truck delivery, included Kansas City, $4.74 1/2 to $4.84 1/2, down 3 cents; Minneapolis, $5.29 1/2, down 3 cents; Portland, $5.20 to $5.55, unchanged to down 5 cents; St. Louis, $4.70 1/4 to $5.41 1/4, down 2 to 3 cents.

Terminal corn bids, U.S. No. 2 yellow, price paid for truck deliver, included: Kansas City, $3.41 3/4 to $3.56 3/4, up 3 3/4 cents; Minneapolis, $3.20 3/4 to $3.53 1/2, up 3 3/4 cents; southern Iowa, $3.35 to $3.42, up 4 1/4 cents; Omaha, $3.09 3/4 to $3.28 3/4, up 5 3/4 to 3 3/4 cents.

Terminal soybean bids, U.S. No. 1, price paid for truck delivery, included: Kansas City, $9.33 to $9.48, down 3 cents; Minneapolis, $9.36 to $9.53, up 2 3/4 to 7 cents; southern Iowa, $9.45 to $9.68, up 2 to 6 cents; central Illinois processors, $9.58 to $9.80, up 5 3/4 to 3 3/4 cents.

Kansas City wheat prices Sept. 8, spot, fob track, included: No. 1 hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, $5.45 1/2 to $5.64 1/2, down 3 cents; 12% protein, $5.84 1/2 to $5.94 1/2, down 3 cents; 13% protein, $5.99 1/2 to $6.09 1/2, down 3 cents; 14% protein, $6.08 1/2 to $6.09 1/2, down 3 cents. U.S. No. 2 soft red winter wheat was unavailable. U.S. No. 2 white corn was unavailable.
