Cash bids mixed

Compared to last week, cash bids for corn, sorghum, soybeans and wheat were mixed according to USDA reported prices, Sept. 15.

For the week ending Sept. 10, a decrease of 8,982 metric tons of corn inspected and weighed for export was reported while an decrease of 112,141 metric tons of soybeans were inspected and weighed.  Wheat inspected and weighed for export showed a decrease of 62,084 metric tons. Sorghum inspected and weighed for export reported an increase of 72,321 metric tons.

Ethanol production for the week ending Sept. 4, reported a slight increase at 941,000 barrels a day.

Wheat was down 5 1/2 to up 29 1/2 cents.  Corn was down 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 cents.  Sorghum was down 3 1/2 cents.  Soybeans were down 5 to 12 cents and up 7 cents.

In the futures close, Kansas City December wheat was $4.68.

Terminal wheat bids, paid for truck delivery, included Kansas City, $4.73 to $4.83, down 5 1/2 cents; Minneapolis, $5.63, up 29 1/2 cents; Portland, $5.20 to $6.65, unchanged; St. Louis, $5.29 1/4, down 7 1/2 cents.

Terminal corn bids, U.S. No. 2 yellow, price paid for truck deliver, included: Kansas City, $3.11, down 4 1/2 to 28 1/2 cents; Minneapolis, $3.25 to $3.59 1/4, down 3 1/2 to 10 1/2 cents; southern Iowa, $3.44 to $3.51, down 3 1/2 to 5 1/2 cents; Omaha, $3.16 to $3.33, down 3 1/2 cents.

Terminal soybean bids, U.S. No. 1, price paid for truck delivery, included: Kansas City, $9.62 1/2, up 10 to down 9 cents; Minneapolis, $9.58 1/2 to $9.74 1/2, down 4 to 15 cents; southern Iowa, $9.74 1/2 to $9.97 1/2, down 8 to 11 cents; central Illinois processors, $9.81 1/2 to $10.15 1/2, down 8 to 12 cents.

Kansas City wheat prices Sept. 15, spot, fob track, included: No. 1 hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, $5.53 to $5.63, down 5 1/2 cents; 12% protein, $5.87 to $5.97, down 5 1/2 cents; 13% protein, $5.98 to $6.08, down 5 1/2 cents; 14% protein, $6.07 to $6.17, down 5 1/2 cents. U.S. No. 2 soft red winter wheat was unavailable. U.S. No. 2 white corn was unavailable.
