Arkansas livestock auction summary
The summary of livestock auctions in Arkansas for the week ending June 11, showed estimated receipts of 9,735 head selling, compared to 5,840 head a week ago and 12,285 head last year, according to the USDA-Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service, Little Rock, Arkansas.
Compared to a week ago, feeder steers under 500 pounds were selling steady to $3 higher, over 500 pounds were selling $1 to $6 lower. Feeder heifers were selling $1 to $2 lower. Slaughter cows were selling $1 lower. Slaughter bulls were trading steady. The supply included 6,925 stocker and feeder calves, 1,290 feeder yearlings, 480 replacement cows, 920 slaughter cows and 120 slaughter bulls. The feeder supply was 45% yearling heifers.
