Arkansas livestock auction summary
The summary of livestock auctions in Arkansas for the week ending Aug. 14, showed estimated receipts of 4,730 head selling, compared to 7,290 head a week ago and 11,470 head last year, according to the USDA-Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service, Little Rock, Arkansas.
Compared to a week ago, feeder steers were selling $1 to $7 higher. Feeder heifers were selling steady to $6 higher. Slaughter cows were selling steady to $1 lower. Slaughter bulls were selling steady. The supply included 3,030 stocker and feeder calves, 895 feeder yearlings, 115 replacement cows, 625 slaughter cows and 65 slaughter bulls. The feeder supply was 44% yearling heifers.
