Tulsa livestock auction report

The Tulsa livestock auction, Tulsa, Oklahoma, reported receipts of 2,101 head selling on July 23, compared to 2,222 head a week ago and 1,417 head last year, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Compared to a week ago, steers and heifers were selling mostly steady to $2 higher. Quality was mostly plain, few attractive. Demand was good. Receipts included 27% over 600 pounds, and 40% heifers. Slaughter cows and bulls were selling mostly steady. A total of 474 cows and bulls sold with 78% going to packers.
