Grain market close
The USDA Market News Service, Greeley, Colo., in the closing grain report for March 27, reported in futures trading that Chicago May soft red winter wheat was $4.49, down 5 1/4 cents; May corn, $3.74, unchanged; and May soybeans, $10.19 1/2, down 6 cents.
The export bid for direct Gulf delivery of No. 1 hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, rail, unavailable; No. 2 soft red winter wheat, barge, $5.14 to $5.19, down 5 1/4 cents; No. 2 yellow corn, barge, $4.16 to $4.26, down 1 to 10 cents; No. 2 yellow sorghum, rail, $7.92 3/4 to $8.19 3/4, unchanged; No. 2 yellow sorghum, barge, unavailable; and No. 2 yellow soybeans, barge, $10.49 1/2 to $10.54 1/2, down 4 to 11 cents.
Colby, Kan., unit train wheat bid was $4.08.
In Denver and the surrounding area, hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, was $3.79 to $4.04.
No. 1 hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, north central Colorado, was mostly 4 cents lower, at $3.67 to $3.84.
In northeast Colorado, wheat was $3.74 to $4.07.
In east central Colorado, wheat was $3.74 to $3.89.
In southeast Colorado, wheat was $3.84 to $4.19.
In southwest Nebraska and southeast Wyoming, wheat bids were $3.64 to $4.07.
No. 2 yellow corn in north central Colorado was steady $3.64 to $3.81 per bushel.
In northeast Colorado, the country elevator corn bids were $3.19 to $3.34.
In east central Colorado, corn was $3.17 to $3.29.
In southeast Colorado, corn was $3.19 to $3.59.
In southwest Nebraska and southeast Wyoming, corn bids were $3.24 to $3.34 per bushel.
No. 2 yellow sorghum in southeast Colorado was steady at $5.25 to $5.79 per cwt.
No. 1 yellow soybeans in southwest Nebraska were mostly 6 cents lower at $8.94 to $9 per bushel.
White millet in Colorado, southwest Nebraska and southeast Wyoming was $6.25 to $7.50 per cwt., mostly $7.
Sunflowers were $18 cwt.
In Denver and surrounding areas, corn was $3.64 per bushel. Barley was unavailable.
In northeast Colorado, Wyoming and western Nebraska, pinto beans were steady $21 per cwt; in North Dakota and Minnesota, pinto beans were steady $20 to $21. In North Dakota and Minnesota, black beans were steady $25 to $26. Great Northerns were steady at $21 in northeast Colorado, Wyoming and western Nebraska. In North Dakota and Minnesota, navy beans were steady $23 to $24. In northeast Colorado, Wyoming and western Nebraska, light red kidneys were steady $35; in North Dakota and Minnesota, light red kidneys were steady $33.
