The Woodward Livestock Auction, Woodward, Oklahoma, reported receipts of 7,188 head selling on Jan. 25, compared to 3,316 head a week ago and 5,950 head last year, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Compared to a week ago, feeder steers 600 to 750 pounds were selling steady to $3 higher, heavier weights were selling $2 to $5 lower. Feeder heifers 600 to 700 pounds were selling $1 to $4 higher and heavier weights were selling $2 to $5 lower. Steer calves were selling steady to $8 higher. Heifer calves were selling $1 to $4 higher. Demand was moderate for feeders, good for calves. Fill was average to full. The supply included 75% over 600 pounds with 36% heifers.
