Arkansas livestock auction summary
The summary of livestock auctions in Arkansas for the week ending July 23, showed estimated receipts of 2,915 head selling, compared to 3,260 head a week ago and 7,780 head last year, according to the USDA-Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service, Little Rock, Arkansas.
Compared to a week ago, feeder steers and heifers were selling mostly steady to $6 higher. Slaughter cows were selling steady to $3 lower. Slaughter bulls were selling $2 lower. The supply included 1,690 stocker and feeder calves, 535 feeder yearlings, 105 replacement cows, and 530 slaughter cows and 55 slaughter bulls. The feeder supply was 40% yearling heifers.
