Ozarks Regional cattle sales report
The Ozarks Regional Stockyards, West Plains, Missouri, reported receipts of 2,844 head selling on July 24, compared to 4,634 head a week ago and 2,132 head last year, according to the USDA-Missouri Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Jefferson City, Missouri.
Compared to a week ago, steer and heifer calves were trading mostly steady with yearlings selling steady to $2 higher. Demand was good and improved through out the day as buyers tried to finish out their loads. The supply was moderate and consisted of mostly smaller packages. The feeder cattle supply included 48% steers, 0% dairy steers, 41% heifers and 10% bulls. The feeder cattle supply over 600 pounds was 40%.
