Compared to a week ago, feeder steers and heifers were selling $3 to $5 lower. Trade was moderately active on moderate demand. Cattle futures closed in the red and drought continues in the trading area with high winds causing fire danger. Slaughter cows and bulls were selling $3 to $4 lower. Slaughter cows and bulls made up 3%, less than 1% replacements and 97% feeders. The feeder supply consisted of 47% steers and bulls, 53% heifers, nearly 82% of the run weighed over 600 pounds.
