Tulia Livestock Auction report
The Tulia Livestock Auction, Inc., Tulia, Texas, reported receipts of 4,506 head selling on March 1, compared to 2,314 head a week ago and 2,513 head last year, according to the USDA Market News Service, Amarillo, Texas.
Compared to a week ago, feeder steers were selling mostly steady. Heifers were selling $1 to $3 higher. Trade was very active on good demand. The trading area remains extremely dry and pushing cattle off of short wheat. Slaughter cows and bulls made up 1%, 0% replacements and 99% feeders. The feeder supply consisted of 65% steers and bulls, 35% heifers. Approximately 90% of the run weighed over 600 pounds.
