High Plains direct slaughter cattle sales report

High Plains weekly weighted average direct slaughter cattle sales for the week ending Feb. 4, totaled 77,217 head selling, compared to 118,367 head a week ago and 77,399 head last year, according to the USDA Livestock, Poultry and Grain Market News Division, St. Joseph, Missouri.

The report was based on sales in Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Iowa and Minnesota feedlots.

Steers: Live FOB basis, over 80% choice, 11,236 head, 1,200 to 1,600 lbs., 123.00 to 128.00 (125.86); 65 to 80% choice, 10,253 head, 1,250 to 1,535 lbs., 125.00 to 126.00 (125.99); 35 to 65% choice, 4,904 head, 1,150 to 1,480 lbs., 124.00 to 126.00 (125.85). Dressed delivered basis, over 80% choice, 9,116 head, 868 to 1,048 lbs., 198.00 to 200.00 (199.96); 65 to 80% choice, 3,833 head, 837 to 961 lbs., 198.00 to 200.00 (199.75); 35 to 65% choice, 76 head, 853 to 875 lbs., 200.00.
