OKC West livestock auction report
The OKC West livestock auction, El Reno, Oklahoma, reported receipts of 750 head selling on April 3, compared to 4,693 head a week ago and 9,821 head last year, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Compared to a week ago, there was no trend available for steer and heifer calves due to limited receipts. Demand was moderate. Quality was plain, few attractive. The feeder cattle supply included 46% steers, 53% heifers and 2% bulls. The feeder cattle supply over 600 pounds was 18%.
Feeder steers: Per hundredweight, medium and large frame 1, 300 to 400 lbs., 190.00 to 192.50, thin fleshed 212.00 to 212.50; 400 to 500 lbs., 170.00 to 186.00, thin fleshed 187.00 to 192.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 160.00 to 171.00, 571 lbs., thin fleshed 172.00; 608 lbs., 161.00; 711 lbs., 138.50. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 301 lbs., 175.00; 471 lbs., 165.00; 600 to 700 lbs., calves 130.00 to 144.00. Medium frame 1 to 2, 571 lbs., 138.00.
