Ericson Livestock Auction report

The Ericson Livestock Auction, Ericson, Nebraska, reported receipts of 1,520 head selling on Oct. 6, compared to 1,980 head a week ago and 996 head last year, according to the Nebraska Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News Service, Kearney, Nebraska.

Compared to a week ago, steer and heifer calves were selling steady to $9 higher. Demand was good from the buyers in the crowd with internet activity noticed. The calf and feeder supply included 60% steers and 40% heifers with nearly 24% of the run weighing over 600 pounds.

Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 8 head, 484 lbs., 181.00; 13 head, 628 lbs., 169.00 calves; 10 head, 626 lbs., 160.00 thin fleshed; 16 head, 763 lbs., 155.00 thin fleshed.
