Dicamba trainings set for February and March

Spring will be here before you know it. The amount of anhydrous ammonia being applied for the upcoming corn crop is evidence that area producers sense the changing seasons. Prior to planting, however, farmers are invited to attend one of three trainings available in southeast Kansas.

The events will take place on Feb. 20 at the Wilson County Courthouse, which is located at 615 Madison in Fredonia; Feb. 27 at the Wildcat Extension District Independence office, which is located at 410 Peter Pan Rd.; March 1 at the Wildcat Extension District Girard office, which is located at 120 West Buffalo St. All three meetings will start at 8:30 p.m. and refreshments will be provided by the area agribusinesses.

Doug Shoup, Southeast Area Crops and Soils specialist, will be the featured speaker. In addition to the traditionally informal question and answer session, the newly required auxin specific training for producers wanting to use the new dicamba products this year will be presented.
