This is our favorite chocolate cake. It’s often requested for birthdays and other special occasions.
Ingredients:
Cake:
1 box German chocolate cake mix
3.5 oz. box instant vanilla pudding
2/3 cup vegetable oil
4 eggs
12 oz. Dr. Pepper
1 tsp vanilla
Frosting:
8 oz. cream cheese, softened
1 stick unsalted butter, softened
1/4 cup cocoa
1 tsp vanilla
1 pound powdered sugar
Instructions:
Combine cake mix, pudding mix and vegetable oil. Add eggs one at a time. Slowly add Dr. Pepper and vanilla. Pour into a 9 x 13 pan or two round cake pans for a layered cake. Bake at 325°F for 30-35 min. Allow to cool completely. Combine frosting ingredients and mix until fluffy and frost.
