Russell livestock auction report
The Russell feeder cattle auction, Russell, Iowa, reported receipts of 2,587 head selling on May 14, compared to 4,988 head on April 30, according to the USDA-Iowa Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Des Moines, Iowa.
Compared to the April 30 sale, feeder steers were selling mostly $2 to $5 lower and feeder heifers were selling mostly $2 to $4 lower. Trade was active and demand moderate. Receipts this week included 51% feeder cattle over 600 pounds, 55% of the feeders were steers and 45% were heifers.
